Get to know the people behind the service. Meet Microminder interviews our team so you know who you’re working with and what you can chat with them about over a cup of tea! This week, we’re speaking to one of our IT Business Partners, Daniel Peart. Daniel and his role are new to the company, so you’ll learn much from casting your eye over this! So take it away, Dan!
Who are you? Daniel Peart
What do you do? IT Business Partner
What does that mean? I manage the relationship between Microminder and our corporate clients. This management includes providing project management, consultancy, strategic solutions and regular review meetings.
Where do you live? Cardiff, Wales.
How long have you worked for Microminder? I joined Microminder in July 2019
What’s it been like so far? I haven’t been with Microminder that long, and the IT Business Partner role is new to the company. So it’s been enjoyable developing and shaping that from the beginning.
What did you do before? I have over ten years of experience within the Dental IT industry. I started my career in 2009 at James Hull Dental Care as an IT technician, supporting IT at 70+ dental practices across the UK. I quickly moved on to project manage the rollout of a cutting-edge IT infrastructure to the group before becoming IT Manager.
After this, I worked for several other dental corporates, such as Smiles Dental UK & Ireland, Smile Dental Care, and some of the UK’s leading independent practices. More recently, I worked with a multi-service provider, igloo Healthcare. I worked at igloo as an IT Business Partner, and my clients included Portman Healthcare and Bupa Dental. Bupa then promoted me to IT Manager, where I took on the responsibility of the day-to-day management of the IT department.
What’s your favourite part of the job? I love making things happen. Projects can be complicated and stressful, so planning down to the last detail is imperative. However, knowing everyone involved in the planning stages worked their best and delivered an outstanding project is always satisfying.
I’m also about taking a proactive approach to my work because who likes working in a reactive environment!?
Tell us what excites you most about the future. I’m most excited about branching out of the dental sector into other healthcare sectors such as Optical, GPs and Veterinary practices.
Where can we find you when you’re not working? So life outside of Microminder usually involves keeping busy with the family, my wife and I have two children aged 7 and 2 (going on 22). We love the outdoors and often spend time walking and exploring new places. During ‘my time’, I enjoy anything adrenaline fuelled. My main hobby is mountain biking, which usually involves riding steep descents, rocks, roots, jumps and drops at speed. It is fun. Honestly.
